We are talking about relationships this month in our Sunday School classes. We have designated February as the time we talk about dating and the whole guy/girl thing.
This week we looked through about a dozen different passages from Proverbs that identified principles that will help us in all of our relationships, including dating relationships. One particular passage grabbed my attention: Proverbs 5:21-22:
For a man’s ways are in full view of the LORD,
and he examines all his paths.
The evil deeds of a wicked man ensnare him;
the cords of his sin hold him fast.
I was reminded again that all that we do is seen and known by God. Who we are in public and in private is known by Him.
What really seemed to be impressed on me was the thought that nothing is hidden because God is concerned about every aspect of our lives. He wants us to see that all that we do, including dating, matters to Him. He is concerned with the health of our hearts and we all know that relationships can be damaging to our hearts if we are not careful.
All is in full view before Him not so He can punish us for messing up, but so that He can guide each area of our life. We need to live each day knowing that all our ways are in full view of Him.
