Over Labor Day weekend, a group of us from Wilmington headed down to West Virginia to raft on the New River. It was sweet! We spent the night on Saturday at the platform tents and then got up Sunday, had our own church service and hit the rapids. Our guide, Kyra, was great, the scenery was awesome and we had a great time.
This is the second time I’ve been white water rafting and the second time was even better than the first. The mountains in that area of the country are just beautiful and it was just refreshing to see the beauty that God created.
The New River Gorge Bridge, while man-made, was still cool to see. On Saturday afternoon, we took some time to go to the scenic view area to see the bridge and got a birds eye view of the river on which we would raft.
A great way to spend part of Labor Day weekend!
